    ceramic brake pads

i'm thinking of ceramic brake pads to get a little more bite and stop smothering my front wheels in brake dust. have you guys put ceramic pads on yet and what set would you recommend? also, would i also need to put new rotors on and if so, which ones would you recommend?

I was looking at these sets of pads for my 08 CTS DI AWD + FE2 Suspension:

Hey sberl, if you were thinking about getting some new pads and rotors I can definitely help you out with that. We carry a variety of products that will help you out with low dust. All our products are also offered at a discounted price to the users here on the forum. PM if you're interested and I'd be glad to help.

Hope i'm not responding too late, but my experience with ceramics is that they result in faster disc friction. What i do is to have (the front) discs cross-drilled. As such the black powder residue is almost totally eliminated and disc heating reduced. This prolongs the disc (and wheel bearing) lifespan.

    resurecting month+ old threads today!

Cermaic pads will probably reduce braking power over the OE pads. They'll cut down on dust by a lot, but that's about it, if you pay attention to such things- it'll turn the brake pedal numb as well.
