CTS-V Steering Wheel On Regular CTS

I really want to get a suede steering wheel for my cts coupe, and was thinking of grabbing the one for the cts-v since it comes with the paddle shifters. Just wanted to know - is this mod possible? If so, would the paddle shifters work since the car didn't initially come with paddle shifters? Thinking of also swapping out the shift knob for a suede one too.

Also if anyone knows where I can get one for "cheap", please do share. I found an old post where a guy used to sell steering wheels but seems like he's done with that now...

    Thanks!

Re: CTS-V Steering Wheel On Regular CTS

There are a few differences between the Vs and non-Vs.

The Vs don't come with a heated steering wheel option. As such if you have that option on your coupe, the V wheel does not have a button for it.

On the Vs, the Traction/Stability Control button is on the steering wheel as opposed to the center stack on the non-V.

In summary the buttons/controls won't match.

You might want to check with the dealers. I believe the non-Vs had an option package that included the suede steering wheel with the paddle shifters. That way you would get a steering wheel that matched your car.

    ----------

I just checked the Cadillac website. The non-V RWD coupes had a CTS Touring package option that included the following:

    Includes:
    ◾Power-adjustable, 14-way RECAROŽ seats
◾19" Y-rated performance summer tires1 with polished wheels
◾Performance cooling system, sport suspension and performance brakes
◾Paddle shift controls on the steering wheel
    ◾Midnight Sapele wood trim
    ◾Aggressively styled sport grille
◾Sueded steering wheel rim and shift knob
    ◾Sport alloy pedals
◾Higher profile, spoiler with center-mounted brake light
◾On Premium models, requires Ebony seats with Ebony sueded fabric material or Light Titanium seats with Light Titanium sueded fabric material
◾Front bucket seats, wood trim package, split-folding rear seat and heated steering wheel are deleted when CTS Touring Package is ordered

Essentially this is a V appearance package with upgraded brakes (not the Brembos) and suspension (not Magnetic Ride Control) and minus the hood bulge and 238 horses.

You still lose the heated steering wheel option if you have that today.

Get the part number for the wheel from the dealer.

This guy is in South FL a 2 man operation and literally sounds like an old itailian guy to boot! In the show car scene and OEM Refinishing He is Second to None! I have seen his work and have gotten high praises from adjusters who are friends at Geico! Id suggest having your wheel pulled and sending it to him! here's his Link!

    Just a thought!

    Kia?

I do like the way he uses the Ferrari type of font/style.

Thanks a lot guys! I did find the non-V coupe suede steering wheel on ebay...thinking of grabbing that. I don't have the heated steering wheel option so I'm ok on that end!

Integrating electronics between differing models is above my pay grade. YMMV, it might even work. Then again..
