    Fog light switch question

Are our fog lights designed so that if you want them on, you have to manually turn them on all the time? I have my headlights set to auto and at night I turned the fogs on with the switch but the next time the headlights came on the fogs were off?

Yes. Its a momentary switch that you must activate each time you want them on after startup.

Just curious, why do so many drivers want fog lights ON at all times? If no fog or precipitation, then why? Factory-installed fog lights do add a nice aesthetic to 2nd gen CTS; but, in my opinion, best when OFF.

Totally agree. I have fog lights and never turn them on as a cosmetic enhancement. The difference in the light temperatures between the HIDs and the fogs drives my OCD crazy and to me, actually makes it look like the fogs are aftermarket. I said in another thread that if I had a version of CTS without fogs and wanted the look, I'd just install the bezels and bulbs and not even bother connecting wiring/connecting them and changing out the stalk on the steering column. But to each his own, of course.

    Re: Fog light switch question

I was only curious because on all the other cars I have owned, I was able to leave the fog switch on so that it automatically comes on with headlights all the time.

I agree, I never use my fogs and I do not like the unbalanced look with HID headlights. The output seems worthless.

I thought the opposite. Taking the fog bezels out and replace with the base model plain bezels for cleaner look.

I upgraded my fogs to the D3 led's and have them on all the time. They look nice and double as drl's since I disabled my factory drl. I would also like to have them turn on automatically just like my previous car.

I just added the bezels to my 08 cts. And I'm about to go buy some fogs soon. I'm just going to put a switch under steering Column.

It will be one of those flat switches that you just click so I can keep it concealed

When you install the bezels for the fog lights is there anything needed for the vent part of the bezel? I want to add the chrome bezels to the front of my '09 cts but couldn't find anyone who has done it yet. Does anyone have suggestions?

I leave mine off now. The factory bulb setup lacks output. I can hardly tell if it is on when I drive.

Has anyone actually used their fog lamps in the fog?

    Re: Fog light switch question

I have a 2008 Cadillac CTS .. It has fog lights, but where is the switch to turn them on? Someone please tell me...and another question do the outside mirrors come in with a switch? or you manually pull them in? I don't see a switch for that.. my CTS is fully loaded it has everything..except AWD
