Anybody have issues with the sunroof shade staining? Had my 2011 CTS sedan 3.6 perf. 3 months and the shade has 3 lines going the width of the car towards the front of the shade. Looks like they are on the window side, also they don't line up where the roof retracts.
Mine doesn't get dirty but suddenly stopped working. Also, Once when I parked the car outside on a hill with the front of the car facing downhill, it rained and when I got in the car there was water dripping from the overhead console. took it to the dealer and they said the drain ports around the panorama sunroof were stopped up. They cleared them out under warranty and no problem since. The sunroof has always been a problem with air leakage. dealer tried three times to correct it but still having same loud, actually VERY LOUD, air noise blowing into the car. My deal has since lost its franchise and closed its doors. so I'm stuck I guess. anybody have any ideas on the sunshade not working? Fuse isn't blown.
Tinman, yep, all those stupid little issues a lot of other owners have, the dealer has tried correcting over time and failed will be out of my pocket now. Dealer was up north, I'm working down south when they email me and say they're closing their doors in 30 days. Sunroof noise, squeaky drivers seat, rear Bose woofer rattle, etc all things the dealer has performed TSPs on and temporarily corrected only for the issue to surface again. Now they're gone so I'll have to correct myself if I can.
I have the same thing on my tan headliner. I used one of those gadgets that they sell to clean the windshield on the inside with a long handle. I can get it between the headliner and sunroof and wipe that line off. I'm not sure what causes it since I don't think I have any leak there.
Yes, I use Folex in a squirt container. You can get it at Home Depot. I'm sure other stuff will work but this is great for removing stains in upholstery and carpeting. Those lines come off easily. I'm not sure what causes them but I suspect it contacts the seal on the glass part when it is retracted. It does not appear to be due to water (we don't have any in AZ )
