    Text message volume issue

    First off I tried the search function but it seams to be down right now.

    The voice prompts are extremely loud but the text message being read is so quiet I can't even hear it.
    For example. The music mutes. I see the "hang up" button appear on the display. Hear nothing. I crank up the volume. Hear the tail end of the message. Then the voice prompt which is now crazy loud asks me if I want to reply, hang up, etc.
    Does anyone have a similar issue regarding the volume of text messages being read by the infotainment system?
    Is there any way to set the volume for the message reading independently of the voice prompts? I've tried playing with the volume settings under the navigation setup but it doesn't help.

    It's a nice feature but extremely annoying in it's current state.

    I apologize for the frustration that has been caused by this volume issue with your CUE system. Have you tried contacting our Infotainment team at 855-428-3669 and speaking with one of our specialists? They are our experts on the CUE and are open from 8am to 10pm EST, seven days a week.     I don't think the system in my CTS is the CUE. I'll try contacting the infotainment team. Thanks for the number

    If the sound is coming through the audio system, as it does with a bluetooth phone, pressing the volume control while the message is playing should work. It works with the relative sound level for both the phone and the NAV system vis a vis the music itself. But you have to do it while the sound you want to adjust is playing.

    I've tried this and it does work during the reciting of the text message but as soon as the message is finished the following voice prompt is at maximum volume.
    It's kind of like this:
    Message starts at a whisper. I turn up the volume. Message continues at normal volume. Message finishes. Following voice prompt is yelling at me at the top of her lungs.

    What did you do to piss her off stevo? She wouldn't yell unless you did something wrong. And as a man, you should know you did something wrong. the hard part is knowing what it was you did that was wrong.

    I have the same problem with the voice prompts on the Navigation system..... Can this volume level be lowered w/o using the volume knb or steering wheel control.... There must be someway to do it in the setup or configure modes.... I apologize, I have not check the manual yet. What I do like is that the NAV voice prompts do not shut off the audio.

    Have you tried to control the volume through your phone? I don't have this problem but my phone is set to max volume. I don't know if that has anything to do with it. Good luck.
