The light output or the lens is turning orange?

Hmm...I'm guessing that 08yfz450 was asking the OP...which is turning orange: 1.) the xenon bulb/light, or 2.) the lens?...and if not, then I'm asking.

Yes. You are correct. If light is orange then bulbs guna die. Lens is orange then you need to polish the headlight

Had the same thing occur on my W8 Passat with HID. Two weeks later it burned out altogether. In other words I would guess it is failing.

Bulb not the lens. Any suggestions on replacements? It's certified, any chance warranty covers it.

I don't think warranty covers bulbs. I would stick with OEM ones and replace both sides at the same time. They have lasted you almost 7 years.

There have been some threads about HID bulb replacement, non OEM.

    From my CTS Knowledgebase, which

    Miscellaneous Items
*OEM Headlight Bulbs: If the bulbs are Phillips XenStarts, they're available from the site I posted. theretrofitsource carries what is considered the best D1S bulb, and the price isn't all that much more:

It was the bulb. Picked one up from autozone. Was able to get the light out without removing the entire bumper. Just removed top pins from radiator, Fender clips and had it out in under 20 minutes. The actual light is screwed in with two hex type screws. Remove those before you try and take out the light and you'll be okay. I fugure that out about 15 minutes into it. Total job next time will probably take me 45 minutes max. Saved 400 dollars including by not going to Caddy Service. They told me had to take off the entire bumper... Thanks to the forum I'm whole again plus 400 bucks!

Based on the info above, are you replacing bulbs on a friends car since you have "none yet"? Just wondering.
