2008 cts4 direct fuel injection rough idling after flooring it.

Last night I stepped on the gas pretty heavy on my cts 4 with direct fuel injectiction and when I hit a stop the car started shaking really bad. It seemed like it wanted wanted to turn off so I put it in neutral turned off and turned the car back on and it was gone. What could this be?

There's bad news and there's good news. Assuming no CEL light was on, the bad news is that this is seemingly normal. The good news is that this is normal. Mine does this, too. I was concerned at first, but it did not hesitate on take-off after the rough idle, there were no unusual noises or smells, and seem to be no lasting problems. The car gets warmed up, and she idles a bit lower than I'd like. I suspect it's the fuel mapping/idle map, likely something to do with fuel economy, etc. I've verified that it's ok with three Cadillac dealers and a non-Cadillac shop I know and trust. Idle speed will remain within spec, fuel and oil pressure are alright, so really it's just like having a nice lumpy cam in there. Unless there's a warning light on, I think you're going to be ok!
