No Aftermarket shocks for 2008-2013 cts????

Hi everyone..im new to this forum .I just bought a 2010 cts premium with 73000 miles..it needs shocks.
I have fe3 suspension .. but i see that fe2 shocks will fit just fine.
im searching all over for shocks and no one seems to carry 2nd gen CTS aftermarket replacement shocks.
How can this be? this model had been around since 2008. am I missing something?

Delco makes them, but that is all. Go to Rockauto.com to see them.

Give Chris a try...he should match prices (not trying to put words in your mouth, Chris) AND his company is a forum sponsor. I have bought from him and have been pleased.

Well, I have tried to order the struts, shocks, and sway bars to upgrade from the FE1 to the FE2 suspension..... Seems that no dealership is interested in supplying the part numbers or parts themselves.... What is the problem?

    thanks for the support folks!

it appears to me after looking into this that there are almost no differences between FE1 and FE2 suspensions

    the shocks are the same
the sway bars are the same (bushings too)
    steering gears are the same
    steering columns are the same

if you have AWD FE1/FE2 doesn't even come into play ... everything is different

Front shocks have a fork they slip into to divert around the front axles.

Don't know about replacement parts/numbers, but factory RWD FE2 and FE3 shared the same front and rear sway bars, also the same steering ratio. FE1's were different.

Thanks Chris for the info, great talking with you today.... But I have to wonder, so what IS the difference between the FE1 and FE2 suspensions.... The only other real difference was the 17" wheels vs. the 18" wheels.... Though I have been told the FE2 struts/shocks were firmer and it had bigger sway bars.... Something isn't totally clear on this.....

Re: No Aftermarket shocks for 2008-2013 cts????

It looks like Fe2 and fe3 have same stiffer suspension except Fe3 gets passive auto load leveling shocks in the rear that cost 3 times as much as the fe2 non load leveling rear shocks, the fe1 is different softer suspension,,springs, sway bars ,shocks etc, are not as stiff as fe2 and fe3.
Does anyone know the benefits of the auto load leveling shock ?

What's the source for that PDF?

my parts catalog is pretty clearly stating that FE1 & FE2 have the same front sway bar and same shocks
