Any reason an SRX exhaust could not be modified to fit the CTS?

So I am returning some of the SRX back to stock before I sell it and I was thinking with some cutting and welding the custom system I built should fit, any reason why a 2.5" catback would be bad for the 3.0DI other than old wives tales.

If it fits, then I wouldn't see any problems. Not sure if it would "bolt up" or not.

It would probably be cheaper to just have a competent muffler shop custom build a new one.

It would be cheaper to just drive the car and leave it alone

Well the guy who built the one for the SRX will be doing this one so he can hack and slash to make it fit but ya that may end up happening.

Is 2 1/2" going to be OK for the 3.0?

That depends on how close they match up. I do doubt, however, that it is that close. I would mess with it, but then again I own a stainless steel metal fabrication shop.

Well most of the exhaust on the SRX was from a stock exhaust from a new Camaro SS that was lying around, so either way there will be sparks
