    help with trunk wiring

I am reposting from the V forum.

Need some help. Bought a license plate frame that will help me avoid big brother capitalism otherwise known as red light cameras operated by big foreign corporations. (check out nophoto.com) Anyway I need to figure out how best to get a wire from the license plate area into the trunk so I can hook it up (live wire and ground). Is there a good hole underneath the chrome trunk trim I can access? Is there wiring in the trunk I can easily splice into? Thanks.

Couldn't you just tap into the license plate bulb wiring?

I know nothing about these frames, so maybe I'm just off base. You're talking about the rear plate, right?

Yeah rear license plate frame. I would like to tap into the license plate lights but trying to figure out where I can get a wire in without crimping it and damaging it. Thanks for the reply.

    Re: help with trunk wiring

Just pull out one of the license plate lamps (they just snap in) pull out the wiring;do your splicing, push everything back together and you should be good to go.
Other than that, driving responsibly could also avoid your problem.
