Article: The most appealing new cars

I thought this was an interesting article. It highlights desireability of specific brands. I thought Cadillac scored pretty well coming up just behind some of the big hitters.

Kudos to Cadillac--glad to see the high regard I have for the brand is shared by many owners!

Nice! Hopefully we'll see Caddy continue to climb over the years. Lexus looks like it could be a vulnerable target. The Germans will likely stay on top. Audi's really kicking ass; I think we've seen the peak of BMW's glory days.

Shocked that Lincoln ranks above Infiniti (though I always thought Infiniti was a bit of a smoke-and-mirrors brand). I bet Acura will start falling unless they do something drastic, and fast -- they are quickly becoming the New Oldsmobile in my opinion.

    And LOL at smart.

I am still active on the Acura forums and this has been discussed quite a bit. I think they make some great cars, but they have lost their way in styling.

They also seem to be insistent on their platforms. They continue to stay completely with a FWD platform where most of the luxury automakers offer at least one or two RWD models.

    Exception being Audi and Lincoln.

Re: Article: The most appealing new cars

I am surprised Lincoln is higher than Acura or Infiniti to be honest. I guess Acura has the same issues as Lincoln (all FWD) but the RLX absolutely kills the MKS. The MKS is a Town Car replacement and my head hits the roof, and it's not even close. So that brand is basically dead to me right now. I can at least sit in a BMW 3 series which is a smaller car -- I can't see overhead red lights, and the titled headrests of the 3 make it rather uncomfortable, but I can sit in it nonetheless.

I finally got to try an Infiniti G37, a car that's had my eye since they came out and I have to say it was all-around disappointing. But again, it has much better room than the larger MKS, and faster even than the Ecoboost. And then there's the M series too...

I'm looking at an AWD CTS, since I just bought a house on a hill and RWD will no longer cut it. It might be the only sedan that will work.
