    Pass Airbag Malfuntion

The Pass airbag light says OFF even when someone over 80 lbs sits in the seat.
My question : The car is a CTS 2011 with warranty left. Is this covered under the warranty?

    Thanks

I would take it in regardless. The light may actually be telling you that the airbag system is truly OFF and won't deploy in case of emergency. It should be a warranty item because it is about safety, but I am not sure.

Is there a fuse that may be involved?

There's a pressure sensor in the seat to detect occupants...it's possible this sensor is somehow malfunctioning. If the light says OFF even with someone in the seat, that means the airbag will not deploy in the event of an accident. Definitely take your car in to get this fixed. If you're under the Bumper to Bumper (4 years or 50k miles from in-service date) then this will be covered.

    Hello karinz40,

I apologize that you are experiencing an issue with your passenger airbag. I would suggest taking your vehicle into a Cadillac dealership for the warranty work, but you may be able to take it to any GM dealership. I would be more than happy to call another GM dealership on your behalf to inquire as to if they are equipped to work on a Cadillac vehicle. I could also help you locate a dealership if you need me to. Please private message me if you need any assistance, or if you are unable to do that because you are too new to the forum, you can also email me at socialmedia@gm.com. Be sure to include “ATTN GREG” in the subject line so it gets delivered straight to me. Thank you very much for taking the time to read my post.
