    Avoid traffic.

My new favorite button in the CTS. I live in the suburbs so most of the roads around here don't have traffic flow markers but it still lets me know about accidents, but was hanging out with the ex and her mother in the city and on the way to the airport to drop off the mom we hit traffic. They had been borrowing my car and showed me the avoid button and it freaking worked, took us on a frontage road and saved us easily 25 mins of crawling traffic. Might have to reconsider letting the XM subscription expire.

    Re: Avoid traffic.

Note - I dont have NAVTraffic but have used the more 'manual' method of avoiding traffic issues. From the route display screen you can choose a DETOUR function which asks how large a 'go around' you want chosen in miles. I did it when I-95 was closed for an accident. I chose a large go around to ensure I bypassed the accident and it worked as well. Although knowing the area in this operation helps, it is a helpful alternative to NAVTraffic. Saved me for sure while traveling from SC to NJ and I-95 was closed just north of D.C.

I used it on my 08 CTS when I had the car. Dont use NAVTraffic anymore cause it took too long to get warnings about accidents, etc.

That part of XM traffic may work, but I found the warnings regarding back-ups to be completely useless. It would indicate a problem where there was none, and have me stopped in traffic and indicating there was none.

The CTS needs an "Avoid hanging out with the ex" button.
