Sunroof leaking. Is my CTS prone to EVERY known problem?

    I purchased my '08 CTS from a family member 10/2012 w/ 57k miles.

They bought it CPO w/ 26k, and never had a problem.

In the 8 months i've owned the CTS, under warranty the exhaust was replaced,

and the throttle body. Currently 65k miles.

Last week, NJ got hit with 2 days of heavy rain. I got in the car and as I drove away

I heard water sloshing above, then heard and saw heavy water flow from the rear

passenger side headliner. It continued to leak over the next day, flooding the

rear seat and under-seat well area.

I covered the roof with a tarp and brough it to my local dealer under the b2b warranty.

They have had it 2 days, no updates and a 2013 XTS loaner.

I'm getting frustrated, If I din't have the B2B, I would be going insane.

    More to follow.

There are lots of reported incidents of this very same nature. It is the sunroof drains that are plugged. In the future (after this is all fixed) don't park under trees, etc, as that junk get into the drains and clogs them. There are lots of threads about this topic. Do a search.

    Hello Bodycount,

I apologize that you are experiencing an issue with your sunroof leaking in your CTS. Please keep us updated on the repair when you get your vehicle back. If you would like, I could reach out to them about your vehicle since you haven’t heard anything for the last two days and update you with what they tell me. If you would like me to do that, please private message me your name, contact info, VIN, and dealership you are working with so I can get in touch with them. Thank you for taking the time to read my post.

    Thanks for the responses.

    Still no update.

    *UPDATE*

After the 3rd day, I called & spoke to my service adviser.

He stated the drain tube disconnected, causing water to enter the cabin.

    More to come.
