    Re: rear reflectors

I just looked at Tonkin onlineparts website and there isn't any indication of how the are fixed on the car. They might be glued on, but who knows? They cost $18 each if you break them taking them off! I think I'd go to salvage yard and test theirs before I tested mine!

    Good Luck, Marv

Somewhere on this forum they used a heat gun to warm up the reflector and clips and suggested it helped.

    Re: rear reflectors

I had mine half way out and gave up. The back of them has some metal type hook that goes into the bumper... definitely felt like it was gonna snap or deform and not be able to go back in.

    Re: rear reflectors

Hey sandcracker. If you're talking about the reflectors on the rear valance (very back of the car above the exhaust pipes) they are each held in by a bolt on one side. The other side just slides into a slit. You should be able to reach the bolt from underneath the rear bumper/valance. I have no idea how to remove the rear side marker reflectors on the quarterpanels tho, sorry

The reflectors at the rear bottom over the exhaust pipes? Curious as to what you see wrong with them.

    Re: rear reflectors

I replaced the lower black/grey plastic fascia on my rear bumper. I had to swap the reflectors from the old unit to the new. Each reflector has a metal stud coming from the back of it (on one end), the other end is a tab that is inserted into a hole. There is a nut that holds it to the plastic part. You should be able to get to these two nuts without removing the lower plastic fascia. The fascia was a nightmare to reinstall, I suggest against replacing it......

    Re: rear reflectors

Mask off the rest of the car and paint them in place. Sounds as if that is going to be a heluva lot easier.

    Re: rear reflectors

Thats what i did, Nightshade then clear. I'm actually gonna redo them. It looks good sometimes but in the sunlight, the nightshade appears black but the top of the reflector that's shaded from the sun by the bumper still looks red, when the sun hits it right (most of the time) it looks like i painted half of it. gonna paint them with normal black paint and then clear it.

Side note - i used nightshade and clear on the side reflectors at the same time and they look GREAT. Look black most of the time but you can still see dark red if the light hits it just right. I did them at the same time so the only difference is the bumper casting a shadow on the rear reflectors.
