    misfire in cylinder 5

So the other day my engine shuttered and misfired before throwing code P0305. Misfire in cylinder 5. I cleared the code and the car seems to drive fine. Any damage I could be doing now??

Do you think it's the infamous coil pack failure in our cars? If so, how hard is it to change your self?

Good. Because it happened again and threw the same code. It's probably the coil pack then, right?

I'll have to find a good write up now..

I'm not having the problem (yet) but am interested in how you make out. I know there is a thread on this out there...

    Good luck!

    Hi,

have the same problem but on cyl 1 (P0301). I Bought Haynes repair manual. Replacement is well described there. But i want to be sure and swap coil 1 and 3 and then read codes again.

How did the repair work out for you? I just got back from vacation and need to do it now. I've been looking for a write up on this.

This is the second time it has happened to me and it's very frustrating

It could either be your plugs or coils or both.

Heres a post with all the info you need: http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums...coil-pack.html

swaped coil 1 and 2, read codes, the problem is definetly the coil in my engine. i dont think the plug is the problem at my mileage 25k miles?
