    Oil pressure gage question

I have 2010 3.6L CTS4. I never had a car with oil pressure gage. So what is acceptable pressure of oil? Does dirty oil / filter created more back pressure that would make any difference in gage ready???? I am just trying to what I should be looking for since I a gage.

    Stupid apple junk. Trying again.

Typically most cars have bypasses so a plugged filter won't change pressure.

8-10 psi at idle with warm oil. 40-50 psi at cruise. Higher when cold.

Oil pressure is relative in the sense that its best to learn what your car does at different conditions and if it deviates then address it.

    Re: Oil pressure gage question

Yeah the oil pressure in the CTS actually seems real, unlike any of my previous cars which seem to be a hot/cold pressure thing, the CTS is all over the place and right about where Ramv said.
