Should i be worried my 3.6DI DOESN'T lose oil?

I've had my CTS for 4 weeks now and put almost 2k miles on it, but have been checking my oil levels everytime I pump but the oil level never seems to drop.

After reading on the forum about all of these issues i was concerned and trying to be religious about maintaining levels and topping off if neccessary.

But it never seems to go down. I check mostly when it's hot and running and once or twice when it's cold.

Should I be worried or feel blessed?

Check the oil only with the engine being off for at least 10 minutes. You are good to go with the oil level staying up.

Bring it back to the dealer. There is a service bulletin #55687 titled "Vehicle Does Not Consume Any Oil". They will replace the engine.

LOL thanks for the laughs guys, I just checked the oil cold after it had been sitting over night, One side of the dipstick says it's full and the other is low which one should I believe.

Try wiping the dipstick off well, then check...should then be the same level on both sides.

did 3 times wiping with a clean paper towel each time. One side always comes out on the top crosshatch mark the other always comes out on the bottom crosshatch mark.

2k is too soon. I lose a quart after about 5K miles.

My 06 3.6 didn't start using oil until about 50K+- (sold it @ 59K). My 11 is a 3.0 and i'm very happy with it.

mine had 70k when i bought it.

Called my service advisor, he said the one side is grabbing oil from the neck because of the bend i'll have to check it when it's cold and sitting for awhile again. But guess i was wrong and it is low. I'll top it off in the morning.

It makes sense. Try to add half a quart and then check again. Make sure you do not overfill.

Like MoFex said, do not overfill. The little lines on the dipstick indicate a quarter of a quart for each line.
