    NAV screen flicker?

In the last month my NAV screen has started to flicker under WOT... Anyone seem this? Know why? How to fix?

    ----------

Seems electrical to me; battery not holding enough amps... Figured if check here before tearing the dash apart...

    Re: NAV screen flicker?

Michael, the intermittent problem could be caused by...
    • A loose connector
    • A poor connection between a male and female terminal at a connector
    • A poor terminal to wire connection
    • Wiring which has been pinched, cut, or its insulation rubbed through
    • Wiring broken inside the insulation
    • A failing Nav screen
As a first step I recommend you connect a scan tool to the car and check to see if any DTCs have been set.
Sounds like an intermittent poor connection issue to me, involving either a power feed wire or a communication wire.

LOL! Yes - evidently I do have too much time on my hands right now! It won't last, so take advantage of it!
Actually it doesn't take me long to research this sort of stuff. It would take a helluva lot longer for you to tear your dash apart!

Fixed this yesterday at my dad's shop. Must have been a loose connector, nothing was frayed or pinched. Went ahead and lubed the moving parts before I reassembled...

Hey Michael. I have the same problem. Which wires did you recheck and how did you get to the area to lube the parts?

I'm having the same issue. I have a warranty claim into GM (dealer initiated) but that was 30+ days ago.
I too am guessing its a loose wire. How did you get the console out/off?

    Michael,
    I have the same problem on a 2009 CTS4.
The screen flickers under accelleration or when the horn is honked.
The screen works fine under steady driving conditions.
Which connectors did you check and where are they located?

    Re: NAV screen flicker?

I have been having this NAV screen flickering or blackout under varying conditions. Very intermittent, which could be a loose connection as you suggest. A month or so ago, the dealer found a tech bulletin or something similar and did some kind of software/firmware update. But, just had it flicker again today. Before I bring it back to the dealer to check the connections, does anybody have any more specific troubleshooting guidance? Thanks.

    Hi BIC,

I am sorry that you are experiencing this Nav. screen flickering and apologize for any inconveniences it may have caused. I see you are looking for some feedback from the forum. Although I cannot provide any specific troubleshooting guidance, I would like to help look in to this concern. If you choose to head back to the dealership, please PM me your VIN, mileage, dealership, and contact information so I may open a case file on your behalf.

    Have a great night,

    Austin J.
