    GMPartsDirect - Very Disappointing...

As the owner of 2 vintage Corvettes ('71/88), I am well versed in the online ordering world.

All I wanted were front and rear splash guards for my 2008 CTS. 1 kit for the front, and 1 for the rear. I placed the order on 12/27/12.

It took 16 days to receive them. That's pretty sorry by itself, but it gets worse. The Front Kit contained 2 LH guards.

I emailed them and was told I would have to return the front kit in the original package (free postage) before they would do anything. Fine.

They received the returned package on 1/17/13. On 1/27/13 I send another inquiry.

1/29/13 I finally hear from them that when the part is received from GMs source, it will be inspected and shipped to me.

Here it is 2/7/13 and I am still waiting on the front splash guard kit.

Subsequent orders from me are looking pretty unlikely at this point.

That stinks but mistakes can happen. The time frame is excessive and I agree it took way too long. I have never ordered from them, I have built a good relationship with my Chevy dealer and can get parts pretty close to gmpartsdirect. If its not in stock I can usually have it the next day or two.

You get way better service from Chris Heath at Rippy Cadillac. Check the vendors forum.

Definitely go with Chris at Rippy. They are sponsors and he is active here. I have to get my order placed with him today for my repairs. GM parts direct is not my favorite as it took them 3 days to "verify" that my VIN and the part go together. Jeez, it was a stinkin' hood support gas shock and they needed my VIN?

Assuming you speak of GMPartsDirect.com, try GMPartsDirect.net. Same catalog, look and feel. It is operated by Clark Chevrolet in McAllen TX. and they have been very helpful.

Or Chris at Rippy. He's well liked here.

Here is a company that is a preferred vendor on one of the Vette forums. Old email from them.

This is in addition to your regular preferred businesses too.

GM Parts House offering a coupon code? You're right, we do not offer coupon codes throughout the year as we offer the everyday low minimum price on all GM Parts. We even allow you to use the 10% coupon code on parts we don't even have 10% to give! Unlike other stores, we do not jack up the price of the entire store to then give you a percentage off. This means we are simply giving you an awesome deal of a true 10% off on any item you can order on our website! Come to www.gmpartshouse.com to get your 10% discount!

We are offering you 10% off any orders over $100 on our website, www.gmpartshouse.com, today through Cyber Monday at midnight. As you’re checking out in step #2 of #4 of the checkout process, you will find a promotional code entry line. Use coupon code “blackfriday2012” to receive 10% off your order.

Just for the record, 17802089 is the GM part number for the front mud guard kit.

$47.25 from GM Partshouse. $35 from GM Parts Direct. Still waiting for the fronts.

And hopefully you will buy from Chris next time; I'm glad I did as I agree with you. I won't buy from GMpartsdirect if I can help myself.
