You could possibly unplug the motor / mechanism that controls the screen.

I too would like the screen to stay up as I never use it when the screen is down...if you do try to mod it, let us know how you make out!

Perhaps a small butterfly dash switch wired into the hot wire for the motor? The constant up/down is just asking to break the mechanism.

That's what I've been thinking since I've had this car...haven't heard reports of it not working but it's inevitable that it will break at one point.

Do you use yours that much? I don't, which is why I am asking. I rarely use the nav, and that is the only time I will open the screen. Never for the radio.

I try to leave it in a up position. But when the car is turned off, down it goes. But everytime it goes into reverse, the screen goes up.

I like to leave the screen up for easier navigation through the menus and such. (guess I tinker with it too much) I also rarely use the NAV and do get where you're coming from on that one...

I do like how it is all automatic meaning when the car is started, the screen goes up and obviously goes down when the car is turned off. I'm just concerned that using the motor several times a day will burn it out at one point but at least it is covered under gmpp for two more years...
