    problem after replacing ECM

2010 CTS Wagon Premium, was in acccident, and ECM was damaged. I bought a new one and now the car wont start? I read it needs programming but shouldnt it still turn over? I checked pin outs and it seems like the BCM is not sending signal to the ECM for the starting sequence? The BCM is orginal and programmed (everything works and the theft light goes out) any thoughts? Anyone know where the BCM is located also?

Take it to dealer. Contact them to come get it if necessary or use roadside assistance(warranty/Onstar).

    Re: problem after replacing ECM

no warrenty due to accident, I have a garage and pretty handy, so before I spend $120/hr I want to check as much myself. I did jump the relay and the starter cranks, but no fuel or spark. I know I have to take it to the dealer to program the ECM, but if I have some other issues I want to fix them before I take it to the dealer.

    thanks

Dansauto, I can appreciate that and am very sorry that you were in an accident. If you do decide to involve the dealer and would like me to contact them to follow up for you, etc., please don't hesitate to email me at Katie_Lucille@gmexpert.com for further assistance.

    Best,

I'd take it to a dealer so they can hook up the Tech-II and perform diagnostics.

    Or buy a Tech-II yourself.

Normal mechanical or electrical diagnostics here will not work. You need DTC's.

+1 on this one. Today's cars are complicated and troubleshooting of electronics requires specialized tools.
