Just wanted to say hello to everyone on the forum. i am a need member having just bought a 2011 CTS 3.0 liter. Previously I owned a Pontiac G8 V6. A great car to be sure. I have many questions regarding the suspension on the CTS and possible modifications. Looking forward to sharing info and ideas. Thanks in advance.

I moved this here - the CTS guys are pretty knowledgeable and can give you good advice. Please go back into your profile and update the car year - it makes a difference in who posts to your questions. Hope I put this in the correct Forum - if not, go to the bottom of the page and request the Moderator to move it to the correct year group.
Welcome to CF !!!!!,...........

You moved it to the wrong generation, Sub! 3.0L's are 2nd gen.

But there again, it could of been a typo. He might of actually meant 3.2L.
Trust me, I KNOW typos.

You say you had a G8 V6. I test drove a G8 GT and loved it. I'm curious how you would compare the CTS to the G8 in handling and driving characteristics. I know the CTS is nicer inside and better looking on the outside, but the G8 really felt like a great driver to me.

G8 came with the FE2 Suspension the V6 had the 5 speed AT. I modded my suspension with parts from Pedders (Australia) Spohn and BMR. Car was very good. My 3.6 burned no oil. I think yhat the G8 was a better exterior looking car. I miss it already. Major problems with the G8 (all models) were the front strut bushing/bearings and the front lower control arms. Both were fixed with aftermarket parts. Will be nice to see if the Chevy SS corrects these.
BTW the difference in the CTS suspensions on the 2011 between the FE1 and FE2 are stiffer shocks and thicker sway bars, along with the 18" wheels. Both V6 models have speed sensitive steering.
