    cts panoramic sunroof normal?

    Hey there folks...

Got 2 questions about the cts panoramic sunroof.

On my 2008 when I hit the button to open it it does but not 100% of the way... it go's I would say 90% then stops. If I hit it to open more it does. Is that normal?

Also when parking from a drive with the sunroof and windows open if I hit the sunroof to close and it start closing as soon as I hit the auto up on my drivers side window the sunroof stops closing and reopens.

Is my sun roof possessed? I checked the rails and area under the sunroof and nothing is obstructing it so I am lost for an explanation.

Any tips or comments would be appreciated.

This is normal. It's what Cadillac calls a "Comfort Stop" feature. There's less wind noise in this position than fully open.

Aaaand that feature sucks...lol. If they did it right, it would be available in the DIC as an option to toggle on and off.

Yup I agree also. Seems they need to look on these boards if they want to produce the ultimate car. 8)

    Thanks for the input folks!

Roggy, I also had the sunroof problem where fluctuations in electric current in the car stopped the sunroof mid function. It was a problem with the safety mechanism in the sunroof being triggered when shifting gears, opening and closing another window etc. They had to replace the entire motor mechanism. If you are out of warranty, you might decide to live with it. If you have a warranty, get it fixed as the newer ones are redesigned and don't have the same problem ... welcome to early build issues!

What I find most annoying is that in the misses' 2011 if you tilt the sunroof up, the (inadequate!!!) flexible shade wants to go ALL the way back. You can stop it with a quick push of the shade forward button, but you CAN'T get it to move forward at all until you CLOSE the sunroof completely. this is a royal PITA!This is not the way the 2008 worked. In the 2008, if you tilted the sunroof up, the shade moved back 2-3 inches and stopped. what's going on with this 2011???BTW my 2008 worked exactly the same as the OPs, it stopped and you could move it back the rest of the way with a 2nd button push.Oh yeah, and while it's quieter closed than the 2008, it's Still louder than the STS.

I must be lucky. (fingers crossed) My 08 sunroof is just as quiet as my previous cars after they replaced the entire unit! I keep saying: "give it time" but am hoping they replaced it with later model parts that hold up well...

Me too...not a sound or leak from it after the initial repair over a year ago.
