Ok I think this is it. The 44 pin connector you can use pin 14 or 28. I used pin14 and run that to amp x2 in pin1. Make sure it is shielded. I had to do that twice. The gmlan wire is also under driver seat but I would have to it out and it was too much work. That is why did it that way. The wire is d-grn. Gm low speed

    P. s I had to replace my rear sub because the amp was too powerful for it. If you listen to your music at high volume you will run into that issue. Just a heads up. It is a lot of work but after it is completed you should be happy

I have an aftermarket rear subs 2 12". So just to make sure, all wires have to be shielded. How did you shield them? What did you use to block the waves/interference? I tried to take x2 pin 1 and run a wire to under the seat to where the rest of the GM LAN connections are. All i got was static. I guess this is because of not shielding the wires. I will take your route since taking the seat out was a pain in the ass. I will keep you posted as we try to do it your way. Thanks again

I had to go to best buy and bought some high end shielded wires. I paid like $20 and it was worth every penny. They were thick and shield from all short of stuff. It is good practice to shield all the wires or get shield wires. That I'd what I did. I ran into a issue where I would get sound from music but not voice guidance. That is the reason why you need to get them all shielded. It took me along time to figure that out. It was a headache.

Re: Successful navigation swap into a non Nav CTS

Quick question: I only want to add USB support to my existing non-Nav unit. Will I have to perform both the screen and amp upgrade if I buy a Nav/DVD/HDD (part # 22790325) head unit, or would I be better off waiting and purchasing the head unit that supports USB without Nav (part # 20904448)?

Hey the best thing for you would have to get a hdd that only have USB and not the other ports because they require to have nav screen and all wires. Those in the pic wouldn't be a good idea. I think it should only have 4 ports total.

I see alot of folks adding NAV to their non NAV cars... GM should start considering selling NAV upgrade packages for you guys and make everyone's life alot easier. It's a win win situation for everyone. This seems long overdue.

Ok for door chimes and signal sounds, you need to connect the front speakers to amp x2 connector and not x1. Please check earlier post regrading that.

grsychckn, did you end up getting the HDD unit? Curious of the cost, I have only the AUX connection and no Bluetooth so I'm trying to upgrade the things that are the easiest.

    Thanks
