    Brake Pad / Rotor Change

Anyone have a good write-up on how to change the brake pads and rotors on the 08 cts4? I'm going to be changing the brakes soon, anyone do it themselves yet? Will a C-Clamp do it to reset the piston onto the new pads or will i need some kind of special tool for that part? Anything I should be aware of before I change my pads/rotors out (I got all oem parts, j55 system)

Re: Brake Pad / Rotor Change

Not much to add other than I pulled the front rotors and pads on my 08'CTS4 about 8 months ago just after purchase to ensure everything looked ok.
Nothing different on these front brakes and any other GM product Ive worked on. simple pad removal and If memory serves it is a dual piston design ?
I did use the C-Clamp method to compress the pistons back and all was good.

It always amazes me the cost of brake jobs when people take their cars in for brake work. Its seems by the time their done, the shop has replaced the pads, rotors, calipers , etc. at a very high cost. Brakes at least on GM vehicles are very straight forward with minimal labor time involved.

Good luck but the fronts are a piece of cake.

Yes it's dual piston design on the front calipers. I still need to get brake cleaner and grease for the job.

I'm not sure what the caliper bolts should be torqued too.. can't really find information on it
