    Beautiful.

The wife and I were there (on the south end) a week ago wishing we were in the 'lac. We drove from TX in my 4x4 GMC truck because we needed 4WD to get to the house we rented. In hindsight it wasn't that bad, I would hate to have beat the snot out of her Cadillac on the Mississippi/Louisiana highways!

Coincidentally, we were on the Blue Ridge Parkway yesterday! We took the Balsam Mountain Road loop. Manual mode came in handy on the unpaved, one-lane road.

Very nice images MoFex!! Thanks for sharing. We must do that drive sometime.
Hey, your '08 CTS looks great - looks like new. The 2nd gen CTS is ageing extremely well. 5 years into it and the exterior design still appears age-proof.

Yes, it is a stunning road. We usually take only the first 75 miles from Cherokee to Asheville, NC. Below is the elevation profile, it should give you some idea about the ride...

If you are ever on the BRPW near Asheville, NC be sure to tour the Biltmore Estate. Plan to spend most of one day to see everything. Have lunch at the Stable Cafe and have a glass of wine in the late afternoon at the winery. The Biltmore is not how the other half lives, it's how the other half of one percent lives. You won't want to miss this.

    Brutus,

you are right about the Biltmore Estate. My wife visited this place couple of years ago. We are planning to go there before Christmas to watch Christmas lights...

Anyway, if anyone of you still have doubts about visiting Georgia/Carolinas/Tennessee mountains here is "carrot"
