Great to hear you got this working! If you keep blowing the fuse make sure you have completely taped up your splice into the back up lamp circuit.

Glad someone got this working. Hey csalmon, I saw you are in Michigan? Which shop did you get your install in, or did you do it all yourself? If it's not too far, I'd drive to have someone "experienced" to do this mod.

Does the test park assist (lights above rear window) still work after the camera install?

Hi, Have a 09 that should be easier to install than an 08. If I was to do this and was handy (trying to get a job as a GM Tech , any guestimate on how long this would take me to accomplish? Your detailed writeup is awesome.

if you can do this then you're basically overqualified for a Tech position ... and could open up a custom audio shop

I gave myself a full weekend day, but I also didn't remove the driver's seat to route the wires. If you have Saturdays and Sundays off, I would start early Saturday morning so that you can go at your own pace, and have an extra day if you don't complete it all. The instructions given by csalmon are very comprehensive, but it is still a very involved project.

Re: Ideas about the Rear-View Camera for 2008-2010 CTSs

I have an "11" coupe with no nav. and I was wondering if I could put a camera in front and a sw. inside to toggle between front and rear cameras, seems that this would be pretty easy as you would be just adding 1 camera and 1 switch. Am I way off base, here? Thanks

Interested in this mod....one question though,

Does the lane marker(guide) show up on the screen when the rear view camera is activated?
Does the marker change angle when you turn the steering wheel?
    Thanks!

Unfortunately, the CTS with Nav, back up camera does not have the lane markers or distance markers as a part of the package. I have no idea why. It sounds like these are integrated into the backup camera in the rear view mirror ... the one you get if you don't get nav.

Hey guys, we did this on an 08 cts with passive entry. Followed all instructions to the T, took it to our local Cadillac store with instructions for them to simply turn on the camera. We get it back and when you put it in reverse all we get is the black screen with the yellow lines, when we put it in drive, the black screen stays up and the only way to get it off is to turn the car off and start it again.

Someone said the yellow lines don't show up, we have double and triple checked the connections. What could be wrong?

Have you tried using a different camera or testing the OEM camera to make sure its working?

That would solve the black screen issue if that were the problem, but what about the fact that you take it out of reverse and go into drive and it is still on the black screen until you turn the car off and turn it back on?
