    Look at your owners manual it specifies what fluids to use and specifically says that you can use any fluid the meets their standards. Synthetic or petroleum based. As stated earlier, there is absolutely no need to use a GM branded product.
    Keep in mind that GM markets all sorts of care and cleaning products; would you limit yourself to GM branded spray window cleaner, of course not.

    There is none, I called BW and asked. They told me the fluid that GM sells is the only fluid that you can use which is actually made by Mobil. The same product thats available from Mobil only comes in 5 gallon and larger sizes so you are stuck with buying it from GM. If I recall correctly (not 100%) its called Mobilfluid 424 Multipurpose Tractor Lubricant BUT Mobil might have tweaked it for use in the BW transfer case.

    Because its a low volume special purpose product there is no incentive for other lube companies to formulate a replacement for the GM fluid.



    GM only recommends what makes them money.
