anyone else getting tired of being flashed by oncoming cars?

i made sure the mechanic used the manufacturers guidelines on installing and lining up the HIDs the time i had to have my lights replaced...he was fully aware of the procedure as it is detailed in the manual.

i just think the HIDs are just so bright that oncoming traffic think i'm an obnoxious driver and drive with my brights on. i've checked the light path while driving and they don't seem to be in the oncoming traffics eyes or anything...they seem to be pointed downward...if i get flashed, i like to flash them good so they know they were wrong...now THAT is a hi-beam i tell ya.

anyone else tired of flashing people back to show them they got it wrong?

I don't think I have ever been flashed driving the CTS. Are these factory HID's that have been replaced or are these aftermarket?

I get flashed a lot, I think part of it is when you go over bumps, it looks like you are flashing oncmoing traffic as the front end bounces up. When people flash me, I just turn on my brights.

Haven't had that happen yet but I did come across a dog walker who held his arm in front of his eyes as the car approached and passed.

Perhaps the laser beams were too bright but maybe he just felt he was not worthy.

Yeah I get flashed a lot too. The funny thing is that I think the lights point too low, I am constantly using my highs on dark curvy roads.

I get flashed alot, but I dont mind. I have a fetish for exhibitionism

Seriously, I prefer our HIDs over other makers. Ours arent TOO blinding when turning with the Adaptive Forward Lighting..

Flashing your lights at oncoming traffic for any reason is a serious violation and can get you a ticket.

I haven't gotten flashed yet, but I too was thinking the HID's were aimed a bit low. Especially on the dark hilly and curvy roads where the adaptive headlights can only do so much. Perhaps if they went up and down... that would be very nice indeed.

At least the hi-beams work quite well!

Re: anyone else getting tired of being flashed by oncoming cars?

Never happened to me. And I have owned a number of cars with HID's. CTS is one with relatively none blinding lights.

I hate though cars with aftermarket "blue bulbs". They do blind oncoming traffic.

kozloski - I do not care if it is offense or not - if a car i blinding me I will flash.....people need to learn........

when i blind that d-bag who assumes he's flashing me because he thinks i don't know my brights are on, i'm hoping he then realizes that his assumptions are wrong and that he should just chill out and quit being the 'hi beam cop'....if nothing else, they should know that they were just plain wrong...they deserve to be en'light'ened.

Back to your first post. Yatesd asked you once, but I don't think you replied. I'll ask again...you said that you had the HID's installed. Are they the factory adaptive HID's or an aftermarket bulb and ballast retrofit using the O.E housing?

I did an aftermarket install on my Solstice and had to adjust the lights down to keep from blinding oncoming traffic.

    What jerk!!!

The oncoming traffic is flashing their highs because you are blinding them. That's the accepted thing to do.

If you were a polite driver (which obviously you are not), you would simply give them a quick flash of your highs to show you had your low beams on.

If you blind him on purpose, now you have a driver coming at you that can't see sh!t. Hopefully he's driving a big truck so, when he hits you, you will learn to be polite.
