Related, the service dept of my local dealer (Towne Caddy in Jersey) stated that it was not possible to upgrade the Bose 8 to Bose 10 w/HDD but no nav due to wiring harness issues. I would think it is probably the same deal going from Bose 10 w/HDD no DVD nav to DVD nav.

Thanks for the info, Scott. I'm depressed now.

Read the posts on those who tried doing this. Hope you are talented at all the rewiring and adjustments to be made w/o any documented procedures. At one time I wanted the dealer to do this - going from Bose 10(standard with Perf. package) - with no luck. If you have a Lux model with base radio(RPO U2T/Bose 8) it would seem impossible.

My question is simple.. can you add a factory nav to a cadillac cts 2011 if it does not come w one? If the answer is no! Can you add a aftermarket nav to fit right where the factory nav is suppose to be?

Yes, some have added Navigation, but at high cost and tons of labor. Do a search and find out the details.

    Re: Navigation system install

I can only speak of my 2013 ATS, but I added Nav to it a few weeks ago. I replaced my HMI module (ordered it preporgrammed) and added a gps antenna. It took me 45 minutes and would probably take me half that now that I've done it once.*

I would hire this guy to modify a center console for me. This is the way to go if you're going to spend all that money.*

My OPINION. don't bother. I have the nav,Bose and HD and never use it.
The Bose system is very good but not outstanding. I think you could do better with a custom install.
The nav works well but it must be updated and I really don't like how it works compared to google maps. I never use it unless I can't get cell signal and that is very rare.

The HD is useless and I just put all my music on a thumb drive and leave it in the car.

I think you would have way more fun spending the money on a custom install and building something that really rocks. I saw a string that showed a custom install without a pop up screen. IMO that's they way to go. But that's just me.
