    Removing rear headrests in 2012 cts coupe?

    Is there simple way to take them out? As you all know that back window is like a mail slot.

    They do not remove easily. Hauler did a thread on this with a couple of pictures. Search it out as the pictures may help. Meanwhile, here you go:

    13. 2012 CTS Wagon Rear Headrest Removal courtesy: hauler

    Here's the procedure: Facing the front of the rear headrest, reach under and pry the plastic bezels on top of the seat that surround the headrest shafts upward until they pop off the plastic support tubes inside the seat. Under them you will see a 1/2" wide by 1/8" high release silver "button" to be pressed in order to release the headrest.

    To disable the spring loaded release mechanism before reinstalling the headrest, insert a small screwdriver between the silver edge that slips into the headrest shaft (to lock the headrest) and the plastic retainer above it and pry upward gently until the spring loaded "button" pops out.

    It appears that the coupes have different seats- ours are not adjustable and I think that that is what hauler is talking about.
    I would love to remove them in my coupe but I don't think they come off at all easily. Gene

    I took a look at the head rests and cant seem to find this button, i pulled the bottom of the cover exposing the foam and cant seem to find it
