It's usually heat/stress related. Hopefully you have full glass coverage on your insurance policy!

"Side story to make you laugh! I had a passenger window shatter while starting out on a return 1,000 trip and it was a BIG problem. Winter, snow, etc. I stopped in a Walmart, bought heavy mil plastic sheeting and duct tape and went to work on it. Had to turn my radio up FULL blast just to drown out the wind noise."

    Good Luck, Marv

It could very well be a warranty issue. Check to see.

I have a hard time believing this will be covered under warranty sounds more of a job for the insurance company.
If you google you'll find people with similar stories like yours.

It's a 2011 and the windows are not supposed to just pop out. I would think if it was damaged somehow, prior to it breaking then it would be insurance.

If Cadillac steps up I will be quite surprised. This is nothing but a random happening. Whoever said "Shit happens" nailed it.

I agree, what's even more shitty is that the window is ONLY available through Cadillac, meaning no after market manufactures! $400+ it's looking like. Could come up with about 100 other car parts I'd rather spend the $ on!

Insurance? Don't you have insurance? High deductible? No glass coverage?

State Farm replaced mine, no questions asked!

I did a quick search and came up with this here in CO......http://www.autoglasscolorado.com/quote.php

Maybe there is something in your area too.

$440 does seem a lot from them. You can always negotiate

Using safelite, my quote was $325 here in Co.

The main point is that there are other vendors than Cadillac!

Guys, thanks for all the support! You were correct Safelite was $315..... EVEN BETTER NEWS, Elco Cadillac came through and agreed to replace it for free under warranty! Guess it helps to have purchased 3 Cadillacs from them in the past 4 years!
