    Plasti Dip Car Bra?

I have seen it done with the regular matte black plasti dip, but has anyone seen it done with the clear plasti dip so the cars original color and shine can be seen through it? The bugs are bad this time of year and I thought it might be possible.

I think you're on the right track! A few years ago (well, maybe 10 years ago) I used a product on my Riveria that was a spray on mask. Cant remember the name of it. It was intended as a temporary mask for trips. I lived in WI at the time and left it on all winter long and it did the job against salt, sand, etc.

Since then, I've always had 3M clear bras, but you might have a good idea here!

    Thanks, Marv

Very interesting! IF I were interested in buying the spray bra, I would have searched for the name! LOL

The product I used, was different. This 3M product seems to apply more like a thin clear bra. What I used was much thicker and wasn't as smooth as this one.

My brain only works by logic, so if 3M is selling this product and a clear bra, the protectant spray film must not be as good as a clear bra. Comparing $25 to $500ish for the clear bra, 3M wouldn't want to jeopardize clear bra sales for a $25 can of spray protectant.

    Thanks, Marv

I was actually replying to the OP, forgot to quote him. Now, per your logic I do have to say that most of the $500 is labor. If you ebay the part itself its rather cheap depending on the size.

Clear plastidip will make your paint look matte.

Not sure If this work. Best example I could find

forgot about that part, she also said a couple coats of the glossifier over the clear will help with that and it'll still peel like the original.

It might be worth a shot. Don't think they sell the clear and glossifier in stores. I'll let you know if I try it.
