    appreciate it man...go for it

they are cheap on ebay and everyone in person were guessing it cost thousands.

I read that the next gen Mustang is suppose to have something similar on their premium models except horses projected from the mirrors when you keyless unlock your door. link here>http://www.autoblog.com/2011/12/07/2...h-logo-projec/

might as well stay a head of the trend.

also, whats interesting is that we were out side playing music pretty loud and the logos pulsed pretty clean with the audio from the speakers. So it actually looks like they are animated to the music in a good way

    Re: Door projectors

Fairly easy install and great end effect for the money. I just pulled the bottom of the door panel out.

Would have been a better install if I had pulled the door panel off. Not a lot of wire to work with this way. Just being lazy.

The hole saw was a little under-sized for the threads to pass through. Had to enlarge the holes with a razor knife.

Each projector had 2 thin lock nuts. I was only able to use one of them due to the thickness of the door panel.

Also be aware of the door clip near the puddle lights when locating your holes to avoid an interference.

Now to order another pair for the back doors...

Just saw the pic, those look very nice. Bright and appear sharp on the graphics. Can you post a link to the version you used? Or even PM me if you like. I read about some being pretty cheap and others being better quality, and I don't want to waste time and $ on the cheap ones...but $20 is a great price for the quality you got there.

PM sent, I can't see how the $100 units could look much better than these. Looks even better in person IMO. That is not the greatest pic (cell phone).

    UPDATE for those that care.
I've now had these on my car for about 6 months and while they are still as bright as the day I bought them and working perfectly the color is fading away.

    that sucks...so whats your plan?

is it still bright? but the color fading away? or is the overall light fading?

if its just the color maybe you can just call the company and ask for the lens.

    Re: Door projectors

In looking back at your original post, these from Hammerhead look different from yours. Who did you buy yours from? Getting ready to order, so I'd like to know the differences between them.

    Thanks, Marv

    Re: Door projectors

I wonder if it's the beam or the lens. Are both sides fading? The lens that projects the image is held in place by a threaded cap. I would think it would be cheaper to just replace the projectors because of the price. From what I have observed all of these units are the same whether version 3 or 4 and by price high or low. It stinks that they should only last 6 months. I sure hope I don't need to keep replacing mine.
