getting more for the license plate
I bought these and they would not light when fully seated in the socket. I had to pull them almost all the way out to get them to come on. At that point they are loose and ready to fall out. One little bump and they go out. The wire leads are way too short on the ones I got. They look like rejects. The overall length is too long for the map light housings, even when fully seated.
Into the garbage can Glad they were not expensive.

I agree with everything listed here, but if you want a little more light for your doors maybe these would fit

    Re: Bulb replacement

Has anybody swapped out the footwell lights in a 2009? The bulbs are exposed in a recessed "well". It looks like you can just pull them out. Mine were very tight (and hot) so I didn't try to force them. I ended up going with these 8-smd cheapies from ebay and all are working fine. Very bright and nice white color.

Yep. I did it. The bulbs are exposed but I found it was much easier to unscrew the flap there and then get to the bulb. I replaced mine with LEDs.

wrap the bulb in electrical tape and make a tail with the tape and yank it out. took 30 seconds per side, and didnt get burnt.

I like the electrical tape trick, i just used a tiny screw driver and put a little pressure at the base to wedge it out. worked good too.

How did you do the rear dome lights? I can't even get my hand in there to disconnect the panel...everything else was a breeze.
