I've read through all of the posts on this thread, viewed all the pictures (all your cars look phenomenal). The question I have is: has anyone done or seen a V conversion where they utilized the V rear bumper with exhaust cutouts in the middle of the rear bumper and modified their exhaust to fit this?

I have an 2008 CTS Sedan that I would like to do the V conversion and the thought crossed my mind about the rear bumper.

Nice overview and info. I don't think I'll be doing this any time soon but the learning is always appreciated.

Mods how about a sticky for this in the appearance section.

I want to do this SO bad.. but even with the comprehensive step by step process.... I'm scared I'll mess my car up.

I was nervous just before I started with the front bumper, Now after having done the front, back, hood and wing I have no regrets. There were no hangups or surprises as long as I payed attention to the details on the how-tos. I never lost a day of work on this, I took the parts in, they were paint matched, I dropped the car off in the morning, they were installed by the time I was off work. Of course I did each bumper and hood at different times, money and wifey permitting. My body guy was impressed how the parts just fit right up between the CTS and the V, he was skeptical at first.

I would also get a box of the Push Retainers (PAS1860-25) from the same place in #93 below. It is easy to damage them when removing. Best to have some on hand. For the rear bumper you will need the bumper, 4 reflectors, the energy absorbers and the lower cover. The energy absorbers (front or rear) are not the same on CTS and V. Also, a new front bumper does not include the "lower cover" (sometimes referred to as the splitter) and the rear bumper does not include the lower cover. PS: The little bezels (plastic rings) around the fog lights cost shipped, $129 for 2. I hope to have mine completed next week. V front and rear and hood. Now I want the rocker moldings.
Guys I finally got a rear bumper cover. Do I really need the V absorber? If i do anyone have part # need to order ASAP!!! Body shop is ready to go.

    Thanks
    Joe
