    Sedan versus coupe grill fitment

So, does anybody know if the grille on the 2011 coupe is the same as the sedan? I wouldn't expect them to be the same due to the overall changes on the car, but I also see on eBay that a lot of them are listed as being the same for both the sedan and coupe.

I am thinking of either getting a mesh or billet grille, or at the very least the chrome strips everyone likes so much (why the hell is the grille gray ), but I certainly don't want to drop any coin if it turns out the grills are 1/4 different in size or angle or something.

yes the grilles are the same in 2010-2011 (coupe only in 2011 obviously)
    wagon, coupe, sedan
there are two grilles it seems (TL1 option for special grille or regular grille)

Awesome, that definitely opens up the options. Any idea what they mean by 'special' grill versus 'regular'? Maybe the V grill is special?

No, the V grille is a totally different grille... the special grille probably has less chrome
the escalade has a similar (if not the same) option

Thanks for the offer, but I already have the stock grill, I was just wondering about my options if I choose to go aftermarket. I am thinking seriously about getting the grill removed and painted flat black and then just put on the chrome strips.

Re: Sedan versus coupe grill fitment

So, I ordered a set of the chrome strips from eBay. I also took my car down to a paint shop not far from my house to discuss the cost of getting the stock grill painted. Turns out you have to take off the entire front bumper to get the grills out (at least based on labor in the book). Once I found out the time listed in the book I was afraid it would be prohibitively expensive, but it turns out that it is only going to be like $235 out the door for both grills.

Now I just need to figure out when I will have time to drop off the car for at least a full day or maybe even day and a half.

    HEADS UP
I ordered the chrome grill strips from US Speed for $140 for my coupe & installed them myself (it took about 45 minutes)---it came out FANTASTIC---you are wasting your time & money getting the grill painted, & it may not look better than the strips!

I got the grill painted and I love it. I also added the chrome strips, but just the bottom one for each grill. Posted the pics in this thread:

I painted the grill myself. Masked really good and treated with plastic primer and then shot it with gloss black, and then clear coat. Took about 4 hours. Then i installed the inserts. People have asked where I got the grill from. While I was at it, I painted the gray lip on the bottom!

I thought I sent a PM to you yesterday but apparently it didn't make it. So here it is again.

I recently purchased a 2011 CTS Premium RWD Sedan and was looking to replace the upper and lower grills with those similar to the V's. I checked with my dealer and they say they are on the upwards of $1200. What options do I have to get the mesh style grill that is on the V Sedan, or will the V series grills fit on a Standard CTS Sedan?

    Thank you in advance!

    Carl

    hey carl,

you can't send PMs until you have 10 posts under your belt... the forum should have let you know before letting you attempt to send a PM... but that's another discussion...

if that includes a V bumper and grilles AND paint+installation that might be a good price... i would have to double check the part numbers (that is just off the top of my head... sounds like a fair price)

but if it's just for an E&G Classics (or Vogue Tyre accessory) grille + installation then it is way too high of a price... they are expensive but not that expensive

click here for the Vogue Accessory catalog

    this one is my favorite

Will the CTS-V Grill directly replace the one I have on my 2011 Sedan Premium (25891998)?
