Where did you purchase your inserts from? The seller that I purchased them from on Ebay provided a warranty against that...

    This one
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/200718834711...711%26_rdc%3D1

But i think, this part isn't adapted for agressive conditions, like: -20C , a lot of reagents, sand on road and other charm of winter

Well put... I'm sure mine would have suffered the same damage in similar conditions as you were in. We did have a very mild winter here in pa this year too.

I'm now wondering if there is some type of spray on chemical that could protect them. Thoughts?

Same thing happened to mine this winter. I will have to check the eBay dealer I got mine from to see if they have a warranty. I was really disappointed to see how they look after the winter.

Other original chrome is ok. Fog lights, trunk, rear bumper and other.

E&J makes a fine mesh insert. Did it a yer ago and very well made. Takes about 6-8 hours but well worth it.

Re: Cadillac CTS Chrome Grill Inserts

I think the chrome inserts do add more bling to the old CTS grill, but that new grill looks so much better. I swapped mine out for a new 2012/13 upper and lower grill. Did it myself. You can change the grill from the top of the bumper and the lower one by removing the splash guard under the engine. It took me a half hour to do and my car looks like a 2012 model now. Glad Cadillac didn't do too much when they updated the CTS in 2012

I bought the grille insert from amazon .. few dollars more, but better return policy. I also used more 3m double sided outdoor tape to strengthen the bonds between the insert and the grille

For those that have painted the grill black before adding the chrome inserts, how did you do it? Did you have to take the grill off of the car first?

The first time I painted mine I left it on the car and just masked off good. The second time around I took the bumper off and removed the grill to paint. Made life easier. its very easy to do but its really your call whether to drop the bumper or not
