Chrome Grill installed, lowered, ceramic pix

Decent day today here in Texas. I finally got around to installing the grill, new lowering springs and ceramic brake pads.

Thank gawd for the ceramic pads! They are working great and bye bye black soot crap on the front wheels every two days!

    So here are the pictures!

I purchased a set of OEM grills from Cadillac (about $500)
I sent the new OEM grills to C.V. Vacuum Platers Inc.
Phone 604 820 9571 and had them Chromed (about $630)
    Total cost about $1100

    Custom springs from
    Coil Spring Specialties

Please search my other posts for wheel information and such.

Could do without the pinstripe and the emblem on the C-pillar, but the grill looks sensational.

Dang.. thanks a lot Pete! Now you got me lookin at them (but thanks). Believe it or not I have not really paid attention to them before. They were there when the car was delivered. I wonder if they were some kind of option? I am going to look at removing them now!

Really nice work! The grill is especially classy, but when I looked at the web-site of the chroming place, I would be concerned about the finish lasting. Best of luck with your ride!

RICH66- First off, the car looks classy, (Are those 22"s?).. Things are different in Texas, they do it big!! It looks personal and tasteful, Nice job my friend! That grille is seriously one of a kind. I bet aftermarket(ers) are looking at this thinking how they can recreate this for a cheaper price and make a killing...!!...

No one else will have what you have at the moment. Enjoy the stares and envy!!!
Merry christmas by the way everyone!

The grill looks awesome ~ was it very difficult to install? I can't say enough about ceramic brake pads...I'll be replacing my stock pads down the road with ceramics ~ the only way to go. Look'n good!

Re: Chrome Grill installed, lowered, ceramic pix

The Grill installs just like an OEM grill... hey it is an OEM grill!

No the pinstripes are not coming off... they are beneath the clear coat so I can only assume that they came that way from the factory. Must be an option.

The grill is vacuum plated and then a clear coat is applied. This is the standard way to apply a chrome like finish to a polymer. There are plenty of other chrome objects on the car manufactured in much the same way.

I have been a street rod guy for many years. Custom Corvettes mostly. This is my first 4 Door for real! The object is/was to get the CTS pimped out/gangstered up without being too cheesy. Chrysler 300 owners have all the toys so I really had to do some thinking on how to get the CTS where I wanted it.

I am really happy with the chrome grill. I didn't want a mesh version like a CTSV... this was more about styling. Now if I can just shoe horn some 24's on it..

Wow, and you would actually put 24's on that car? If 26's are available would that be considered as well. The grill looks nice but your choice in the size of rhims seems to be more "look at me" than this is a sharp car that most will notice without the monster rhims.
