Endo--Great Photoshop job. I am still not sure if I am going to smoke 'em. I might wait a few months to see how I like the clear lamps. So far, I have no desire to touch them.
StormCaddy--I'll post profile pics tomorrow.
Mac 141--I only yelled once during the install which is pretty good for me. Here's a quick overview:
-Remove black trim piece inside the trunk and just above the bumper
-Unscrew the 4 high mounted plastic nuts on the side walls inside the trunk
-Grab the end of the gray felt trim piece that rides along the inside of the driver's rear quarter panel; pull it gently toward the center of the trunk; be careful not to break the clips that hold it in place; no need to remove it entirely; repeat on passenger's side
-Use a socket or wrench to undo the 3 nuts that hold the lamp in place
-Grab the lamp from the outside and gently lift it out; be careful not to break the plastic piece that sits beneath the lip of the bumper
-Disconnect the wire harness
-Connect the new lamp and put everything back
-Remove the black rubber stopper on the underside of the trunk lid; you may also have to remove the inside trunk handle and trim piece around the latch; then grab an end (near hinge) of the gray felt trim piece under the truck lid; pull it back until you can see where the lamp is secured to the lid
-Use a socket to remove the 4 nuts; be careful not to drop the nuts inside the trunk lid
-From the inside, squeeze the the plastic clips and push out; I pulled the lamp from the outside and ended up breaking the clips
-Disconnect wire harness
-Connect new lamp and put everything back
My clear tail lamp package arrived today. I couldn't wait any longer, so I changed them out right away. See before and after pics below. It's a pretty easy install...took about 1 1/2 hrs. If you decide on this mod, I would be happy to walk you through the install. The kit was purchased from Lindsay for about $650 including shipping. Great price! Thanks Luke!
congrats on your upgrade.
If You are going to sell Your stock lamps, I'll be interesting.
Personal preference, but I don't like all white.
I'd seen the all white before and its the fact that black08cts' are still red that got my attention.
Although on a lighter car the all white might look better, mine is black and it just doesn't seem right to me.
