I can't wait to see how other people install and how yourgmsolutions add new wire from BCM into the Fog Relay

    Re: After Market Fog Lights

I'm waiting for a call back from my dealer with cost and part # info, including swapping out the light control stalk. They're also supposed to tell me if there are any potential warranty issues if I choose to do it myself.

Check eBay, they have the whole fog light package for the 2008 at less than $100 with shipping.

they are standard on the Euro-version.
But why don't they offer them in the US? AT least as option?

    Re: After Market Fog Lights

I'm ready to jump on this but first let me verify with you guys what I think the correct part numbers are.

    o Two fog lamp assemblies - p/n 25808666

    o One L/H lamp bezel - p/n 15904574

    o and one R/H lamp bezel - p/n 15904575

Can someone verify these numbers for me?

Next question. How do the lamp assemblies attach to the bezels? Does this require some type of unique hardware?

    Great forum.... thanks.

    ok, here is more info.
in order to make it as factory as possible, I'm going to shw you guys how to replace switch for the new one that comes with fog light switch.

    1. remove steering column cover and then look at the pictures below

    2. underneath the dash, you find BCM.
    3. locate Light Green Connector

    4. You'll also need a relay

    Re: After Market Fog Lights

Thanks for the great pictures and information.

So, there is no wire in #19 slot in CTS(FE1).
Is there anyway we can use Fog light Relay and fuse in fuse box(FE1)?
Can we connect a wire from #19 slot to the fog light relay in the fuse box?

And, if you have information would you please show us how Fog Light Relay and Fuse in fuse box get used in CTS(FE1)?

Thanks for the great information again

    Re: After Market Fog Lights

I finally got a call from my Dealer.
to install factory lights, switch, etc = $600
BUT, thats assuming that the correct wiring harness is already on the car. they'll have to look at it to find out.
If its not there, add another 500.

I might be convinced for $600 to get a total factory look fog light set up, but certainly not $1100.

That is very interesting. Can you please keep us posted on this, I would also pay $600 for this and would be very interested if there is a way that we can tell if the harness is ready for this ourselves...

    Re: After Market Fog Lights

    I'll definitely let you know.
My car is going in next week to have the stock wheels and tires put back on, they'll check for the harness while its in the shop.
Probably a safe bet that if one has it they all have it.

Looks like the DIY set up posted here is a lot cheaper but I'm too busy and not inclined to mess with the car myself so if I want them I will gladly pay them to do it for me.

    Re: After Market Fog Lights

I just installed a set of foglamps into my 08 CTS on Saturday. I followed the instructions that yourgmsolutions had posted (i think they are on page 4). I had a lot of help with a mechanic who is a family friend. the total cost was $29.99 plus shippng for the foglamps and about 4 hours of work between the two of us. Here is pretty much what I did, sorry I dont have any pictures.
    1. ordered the lights from partsamerica.com. they are the blazer xt853 lights
    2. took the chrome bezels out of the bumper
    3. lined the lights up with the hole
    4. used 80 grit sand paper to rough up both the back of the bezel and around the foglamp housing
    5. used body filler that we had in the garage to have the foglamp stick to the foglamp housing
    6. waited about 10 mintues for the body filler to harden (foglamp and bezels were stuck together really good)
    7. attached the bezels back to the bumper
    8. ran the wires from light to light, then driver side light to interior of the car
    9. used the driver side bracket in the bumper as a ground
    10. spliced the power into the orange wire inside the dash (driver side)
    11. drilled a hole in the dash for the switch
    12. attached the ground wire in the dash to a metal post
    13. hit the switch and the lights come on, even tho the car is off. the orange wire always has power

i have to manually turn the foglamps on and off
the switch has a red led on it for when they are on
the bulbs give off a yellow light, but look pretty good
they fill the holes that i had in the chrome bezels that i put in and give the car that finished look

i would only say go through with this if you have time, patience and know how to wire such things. it took a mechanic of 40 years and myself who has been around and messed with cars for the last 5 or so years 4 hours to do. it looks nice. i will try to post some pictures in the next day or two of what they look like at night and during the day. also one of the switch in the interior. the switch is to the left of the steering wheel, right of all the buttons to see your mpg, ave speed, etc
