shifter pops out of 2nd

Remove this ad
more often my shifter pops out of second gear. Even if i hold it in. anyone else have this problem? Ive tried diff ways to shift even hard shifting it will still happen. is there a tsb or someting. i thought someone else had this problem too. i tried the search but had no luck. thanks for any help.

No TSB... You may want to take a look under the shifter boot... There's a huge piece of foam in there and some members had a problem with the shifter hitting that foam and preventing it from going all the way in to gear... If the foam is indented where second gear would be you may want to trim a little off the foam or try repositioning it...

I encountered this problem in a previous car (not a V). Required a tranny replacement.
