The engine for the "super vette" is supposedly going to be a Supercharged LS9
The information you read was not correct. The Camaro will not have an LS2 in it. The LS2 engine will cease to be used in production cars before the Camaro is released. The 6.2L LS3 takes over for the 6.0L LS2 and would be the logical choice. The Camaro is a 2009 model year, therefore no LS2.

I agree this "Super Vette" has the green light, however it's name still has not been decided, and yes it will have the supercharged LS9, however, 1QUICKV said it would be a supercharged 7.0L motor. The LS9 is not a 7.0L motor, that's about one liter too big. Just correcting some mis-info.

Re: introducing the worlds 1st LS7 CTSV

i tell you... what you did to your v is the best thing anybody could do... you saved much money... you now have a car that will keep up with the ZO6'S vipers, and you didit pay the price tag, well in one way you did but, i'm sure it was worth it. i just want to know what does'it work in the car... does the mpg work, speed, and what else do you have to do... i once had a monster truck before this car and i could spend lots and lots of money changing stuff over but like my father told me you want big buy big... well i hope this is not true in your case.... great job... you ahead of the game do you have a parts list of the stuff you needed?

Hot Rod magazine did a series where they installed an LS7 in a Pontiac Solstice (last year I think, I'll have to dig through my back issues).

Re: introducing the worlds 1st LS7 CTSV

Well lets be realistic an LS7 V will get own3d by a Z06 any day of the week, assuming no power adder (bottle, blower, hair dryer, etc.). However it will own any 4 door on the street, and most sport/muscle cars.

Re: introducing the worlds 1st LS7 CTSV

Truly a cool mod. People add power to their cars all the time and a few even do engine swaps; but this one pegs the meter by:

1. Swapping within the manufacturer.
2. Keeping the naturally aspirated big V8 philosophy.
3. It could've (and probably will in the new V) come from the factory this way.
