Add another one to the list..... MY UUC Shifter Broke

My brother was driving the car earlier today and my shifter broke.
I was wondering what steps should I be taking to get this fixed and I also paid about $200 bucks for the installation. Which is going to be a bitch since I dont have the tools to install or remove one. Does anyone know of a dealer that knows how to install shifters? At least the car is at my house.

Which batch is the bad batch? How long have you had your shifter? I was one of the first to buy the UUC shifter. Should I be worried?

My question, too. I bought one of the first ones, and now my 2004 V pops out of 6th gear almost every time. What gives?

I installed one of these a couple weeks ago. This shifter along with the bushings is so smooth you do not need to power shift it at all. If you are shifting like you are swinging a hammer you are accomplishing nothing at all.

I was one of the very first people to get the shifter. I've had the shifter since it came out.

AMS in Gardena(?) is a good installer if you don't want to do it yourself (all you need are stands to lift the car and some simple handtools including wrenches.) PM Reed for the address of AMS since he used them for his install of the UUC

I actually installed my shifter over at AMS but the problem is it's about a 20 min drive from here and who knows how much I'm going to get charged to get it towed.

You might be able to still drive it.

From the breaks that have happened there usually is enough of the stalk left to latch onto and shift.

If you pull up the boot you might be able to slide the shifter back in and drive it. The photo is how it looks.
I do not shift my car hard, can't, when I do I get wheel hop. Regardless no matter how hard you shift it should not be able to break a solid piece of metal. I was very happy that UUC replace my shifter for me however, it should never have broken in the first place. It is very embarrasing to have a $400 shifter break. My buddy with his Z06 was laughing at me.

Good luck, I hope it all works out for you. Hopefully you can drive it there. Luckily I have AAA so the my tow didn't cost anything.

Well, I feel honored my shifter made it this long. I've noticed over the past week or so that my shifter had a little twitch side to side and yesterday, it broke. I was able to get it into 3rd and get it home.

UUC is getting a new one to me ASAP.
