There's nothing special about installing/removing the shifter that requires anything other than a competent mechanic. I had my local auto repair shop do it since it was easier (though not mandatory) to use a lift. It took them a little over an hour.

I just purchased a UUC shifter from Luke a couple weeks ago. Its pretty disappointing that a shifter this expense would just break in half. Does anyone know if this is a problem with newly made shifters? Has UUC done anything to correct the problem? |

I believe the breakage was attributable to a "bad batch," and those produced more recently are okay. That's the consensus.
Chances are, if you got yours from Luke, it hasn't been sitting on a shelf somewhere for three years, also. |

UUC doesn't make a simpleton solid shifter that needs to be quieted down. The 2 piece design had an issue where the lower rod would snap where the screw went through. They beefed it up. There are no issues now. |

That issue happened and they stepped up BIG TIME. You get the benefit of having that bug worked out. There's a reason you paid more. You'll more than get your $$$ worth...
