That's right dreamin. They called me the other day to tell me I ordered 600/650 when asking for "track". Street performance is indeed 500/550.

Re: Ground Control (Group Purchace List) Very close!

I just ordered the 650F/600R. They should arrive tomorrow. Installation won't happen till next Friday. I'll put up a thread with my review of the handling and ride comfort. Also contemplating on some 18" or 19" CCW SP16A. Most likely I'm going with 19's. I guess this means I'm a track junkie.

I'm pretty sure the 600 is front, 650 is rear.

Re: Ground Control (Group Purchace List) Very close!

I have a couple questions for Dreamin about his set-up as I would like mine to be the same since he seems to be so very happy with his:

1) noted that he mentions early on having the WW spacers installed on his rears - Dreamin, do you still have these or were they replaced by the "new" GC top mount for the rear shocks? - wondering if I need WW spacers too or just the GC kit if I aspire for mine to be just like yours.

2) Do you have Hotchkiss sways or anything else that is not stock that would effect handling that I should also add at the same time (other than your different tires/275 rears)?

3) Also, speaking of tires, I assume your wider rears are really just for looks, do you think they give any improvement in handling? - I still have original F1's but they are almost cooked (8K miles)

Re: Ground Control (Group Purchace List) Very close!

Wider wheels are not really just for looks and they will/should have a pronounced impact on the handling dynamics of the car. Wider wheels/tires provides a greater contact patch and therefore more traction, which the V can surely use, especially with the power it puts down even in stock form.

Greater traction in the rear decreases the amount of power oversteer / tail-out behavior, thereby allowing one to push the throttle a little more through the turns without stepping out the rear. More necessary for road courses, perhaps not as essential for autocross, although I don't think it can hurt at all (even with the wider rear setup, I'm sure you can rotate the backend if need be).

Re: Ground Control (Group Purchace List) Very close!

I just ordered the "Hot rod Caddy" setup for my FE4 shocks. I believe that's 550F/600R. I also have 275 rears, hotchkis sways and a KARS stage 3 kit.

BTW, I think I remember something in the past about having to replace a tie rod or something w/ a ZO6 part? Anyone remember this?

Re: Ground Control (Group Purchace List) Very close!

It's the front sway bar end-links people are changing to the Z06 part... they handle the lowered car better than the stock end-links.

Re: Ground Control (Group Purchace List) Very close!

Tons of great info on this thread. 500/550 worked awesome with the FG2s. Again, I wonder if I should go higher than 600/650 with the QA1s...
