remote clutch bleeder fail - pics!

I ordered a clutch bleeder from Tick Performance. It doesn't fit the stock LS6 slave.

Here's a pic of the stock slave attached to the transmission.

Installing the Tick Performance speed bleeder:

    Up

    Down

    Side

Here's the only side that works:

Bending it back to clear the bellhousing contact surface...not good.

The stock bleeder tightens very nicely. The Tick Performance was a kinda loose. Here's a few shots of the end fittings.

    I purchased part# TPSBLC6
    http://www.tickperformance.com/tick-...6-04-07-cts-v/

Just giving a head's up of what you get. So instead of fumbling around with end fittings that don't work (btw the two ends are different thread sizes and are not interchangeable) I decided to purchase the Mityvac and give it a try.

Mityvac MV8000 Automotive Test and Bleeding Kit : Amazon.com : Automotive

chime in if you know of something I overlooked. Again, the 45 degree end fitting and the straight are different thread sizes so no reversing them.

    Thanks!

Most people bend that fitting more straight. Be careful. Tick would not believe me when I called them and told them it should be straight.

I'm going to give them a call and see what they say. I'll bend it if I have to.

I bought the Tick Perf. clutch bleeder long before I purchased the clutch.

I've got the tick bleeder as well. I think they bent it slightly and notched the bellhousing to make it work.

Bending the fitting or cutting a notch in the bellhousing is unacceptable. I called and I was told to send it back and to get the 2010 Camaro speedbleeder - wtf??? So I guess the scenario is...purchase 2004-2007 cts-v specific speedbleeder, find out it fits like real s**t and then send it back in to get the model car that I don't have.

To be fair Tick Performance mentioned that they suspect not all cts-v bellhousings are the same. I took a pic of a Mallet cts-v, not sure if it has a T56 or not but the bellhousing was definitely different.

If you look closely, I don't think mine has that much of an angle on it...

hmm that slave looks different...look at the spacing between the connections compared to mine. Yours looks a lot like the Mallet I posted above.

My bad, I've got the LS7 slave
I just noticed the whole setup looked different and realized that your running the stock slave

The LS7 slave was only off by a little and needed a little reaming on the bellhousing to make the bleeder fit.
Why not swap to the LS7 slave?

I'm thinking about swapping for a LS7 slave - any differences besides the obvious positions of the hydraulic fittings? I know I don't need the Katech spacer since I'm going with a light weight flywheel and twin disc clutch.

Re: remote clutch bleeder fail - pics!

Called Katech...LS7 slave will NOT work with their LS9x clutch kits. Mentioned the ZR1 is the closest fit but doesn't recommend it.

Basically, LS6 stock slave with this kit...that's it.

    Edit:

Just got off the phone with Martin from Tick Performance. The speedbleeder is getting swapped out for a straight fitting which is the same as the 2010 Camaro. There should be no issues with the end fitting either.

Apparently for every 5 calls they get for a straight line, they get another 5 calls for a 45 degree line. I suspect people are using different slaves for different clutch set-ups and could account for these differences.

In my case, I need a straight line (180 degree bend, lol) and the stock LS6 slave for the travel required for the Katech LS9x clutch kit (no spacer and confirmed with Jason at Katech).

Just a heads up, Tick Performance was very easy to deal with and rushing me a replacement ASAP.

    Thanks All!
