The question you have to ask yourself is what you want out of the car. The rear end sucks in the V so I would start wyh a Ford 8.8 rear upgrade at least. I'm going to have my heads machined, fast 102 I take and throttle body (either Nick Williams or FAST), cam and new lifters pushrods and springs, usually valves can just be cleaned up. Then if that isnt good enough I'll just put on a procharger or some kind of forced I induction. I want a car that will pull hard through the upper half. I like to run on road courses. And one course I run on uses about a mile of a NASCAR oval so top end is key. If you are going to daily drive it just put on a Magnuson 112 and enjoy the sweet torque band.

Before you modify any car. You must be honest with yourself about what you are really looking to do with it. That way it will be well built for what you are using it for.

Re: Head n cam or charged ?

If you want a more controlled and safer power adder, then go heads and cam, later you can add a blower if you didnt get HC heads...

There is a pair of LS6 ported heads on Ebay that are cheap, and toss in a LS9 cam and 1.85 yella terra rockers. Great idle and street manners with decent power. You can also charge it later with less investments for later...

I think if I was going to dump some money in my V I would probably do a nicely built stroker. Fully forged just in case I was going to charge it later, milder heads and cam. but a really nice 500 hp all motor.

But I think thats all a tease if you cant put it to the pavement, so I would probably beef the drivetrain up and do a little suspension before a stroker.

Seems to me the maggie is very popular on the V1's

Is this a good deal and would it be a good setup on a ls6 V? I plan todo headers within the year and will prob buy some ported heads as well. Will the stock ls6 cam support all those mods or does it need to be upgraded to. I had a stock ls7 cam but I sold it for $120.

My other question is can this fast 92 be used with a ls2 TB and would that be better than the wire drive one that's on there.

For almost the same price you can get a NEW 92mm Fast intake and use it with a ported Ls2 TB. this one is too old and the tb wont work with you...

Try and get a LS9 Cam, its almost identical to the LS7 except a little more exhaust duration, and more LSA. Not to mention you can buy it new for $120 vs $300 for the LS7...

H/C if you want the same amount of power all the time and heatsoak is not an issue.

S/C is hard to beat when IAT temps can be controlled (meth)

Here's a look into my '04. It has a MP112, 90mm TB, Moroso catch can & Derale oil cooler. dyno@ 474whp 431tq. stock cam, no headers just Magnaflow catbacks. Good Luck on your decision.

I got 31whp and 20ft/lb tq from the larger TB
The pulley is the one that came with the blower kit (stock)
