rlj5 - I've successfully pounded your old QA1 shocks into submission. All have been rebuilt three times due to leaks, one piston shaft broken, the bottom of one shock body broken and currently both fronts have leaked all the fluid out again.

I meant to post this link about the 'Fat Girl' the other day. This was written by another forum member who writes for LSXTV.com and all the other GM online magazines. I've done all my own work as have plenty of other forum members. We are all more than willing to help out with knowledge, excerpts from the service manual, photos and there are plenty of illustrated how-to's on here.

On a side note, NONE of my friends shorten the Fat Girls name to 'TFG'. Lol. Plus I run 275/40's out back not stock 245/45's.

My V1 had coilovers with T2 race shocks. I loved them. Firm but never harsh. Yeah, the V2 is like a Fleetwood in comparison...

I've done in 3 now, 2 passanger and one drivers side, 1000 hp DSS axles. Hendrix kept telling me that he has never had any break before me or since. What a line of B.s.
I even had to call DSS personally to get my refund for the last stub, because Thomas kept dodging my calls when it came to pony up. Even then he never reinbursed me the full amount.(I paid for stub to get it out right away, while I sent him the broken stub)
No diss on DSS, but Thomas on the other hand.
Are you lowered? I read somewhere that camaro guys lowered with DSS axles were having the same problem untill DSS made some changes.
Seems a change they need to do for the V guys.

If you PM wildwhl he gets notification, I think. In the past, he'd respond. As for fannystang, I don't know...

I dealt directly with DSS and they were great to deal with about a month ago when the first one twisted off. I removed the axle and sent it to them directly, I paid shipping one way, and kept the broken stub. I do all my own work so money wise I was only out $40 shipping. They replaced the entire inner half of the CV.

My car is lowered. I will ask about it when I talk to them. Thanks for the heads up.

Re: Cadispeedster's first thread! NEW MEMBER! 2006 CTS-V

Dealing with Hendrix was nothing short of a nightmare the last time I dealt with him. Every time I had to ship him back the stub (my expense). Doing my own work too, but still out diff fuid and seals, no biggie. I don't think I would even get cash back if I didn't contact DSS directly. They delt with it right away for me. Apparently they reinbursed Hendrix right away, but he never passed the money back to me, untill I finally had to get DSS into it.
